Lafayette First Assembly (LFA) exists for three main purposes.
First, we gather each Sunday to worship God. Worship is a priority
with us. We design our services to enter into the very presence of Jesus.
Secondly, we train each believer for Kingdom living. We are overcomers in
Christ in all areas of life. We teach this, and God is blessing us at every
turn.
Finally, we accept the responsibility and find joy in
outreach ministry. We
believe fulfillment in Christ is found in bringing others into the Kingdom.
Sunday School
Our desire is to see each person in our congregation grow. Sunday School is
an excellent small-group setting where this goal may be accomplished. Classes
are available for younger children, teens and adults. A variety of media is
utilized to enhance the teachings of Kingdom living. Our literature is
contemporary yet solid in Christian principles.
Children's Church
The "Kingdom Kids" at LFA keep the congregation young at heart. They are full
of energy and anxious to make a joyful noise before the Lord.
David Spears serves as the children's director assisted by Dawn Nash. They meet
each Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m. during the morning worship. New and creative
methods are exercised each week. Ages are from 3 to 12 years.
On Wednesday nights another Children's Hour is conducted by David Barnes,
assisted by Comaleta Looper. Each child is a special gift to the class. Multiple
activities such as crafts, videos, puppets, story telling and snacks keep the
children happy and learning more about Jesus.

Enthusiastic efforts are being made to involve our men in ministry. Known as "Honorbound",
the men's program is affiliated with the national program "Promise Keepers".
Dale Gillette leads the men at Lafayette First Assembly in discussing relative
issues of the day.

The women are urged to unite together as they explore spiritual giftedness,
encourage each other, pray become involved with community needs and find
personal strength to minister to their families and friends.
Youth
Our young people meet each Sunday at 6:00 p.m. Fellowship, food, extra
activities and occasional field trips are a part of their group, but learning
the Word, applying it to their lives and experiencing Christ are high
priorities. Age group is from 13 to 25 years.
Outreach Ministries
We are reaching out to the needs in our community through a program called
"Neighbors-in-Need". Donations are accepted to provide personal care items to
persons referred to us by our local help center, Macon Helps. Such items as
shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, lotion, toothpaste, soap, toilet paper and
paper towels are distributed on the last Monday of each month. We have averaged
assisting eight families per month.
Any donations are greatly appreciated and may be sent to the church.
